Working out as an Amputee
I want to share with you a message of encouragement, empowerment, and possibility. As an amputee myself, I understand the unique challenges that individuals with disabilities face when it comes to fitness. But I'm here to tell you that regardless of your abilities, working out is not just important – it's essential.
Let's address the elephant in the room: the belief that because we're disabled, we can't work out. I'm here to challenge that notion. Yes, our bodies may function differently, and we may need to approach fitness in a modified way, but that doesn't mean we're incapable. In fact, it's quite the opposite. Our disabilities do not define us; they simply add another layer to the incredible resilience and strength that resides within each of us.
So why is working out so important, especially for individuals with disabilities? Let me count the ways.
First and foremost, exercise is vital for our physical health. It strengthens our muscles, improves our cardiovascular health, and enhances our overall well-being. For amputees like myself, maintaining a strong and healthy body can make all the difference in our day-to-day lives. From navigating the world with greater ease to minimizing the risk of secondary health complications, the benefits of regular exercise are undeniable.
But it's not just about physical health – it's about mental health too. Exercise has been shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, leaving us feeling happier, more energized, and better equipped to tackle life's challenges. As someone who has experienced the transformative power of fitness firsthand, I can attest to the profound impact it can have on our mental well-being.
Now, I understand that getting started can feel overwhelming, especially if you're not sure where to begin. That's where adaptive workouts come in. Adaptive workouts are tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals with disabilities, offering modifications and accommodations to make exercise accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Whether you're an amputee, wheelchair user, or have another type of disability, there are adaptive workouts out there for you.
I have designed routines that offer a wide range of workouts that can be modified to suit your abilities and preferences. From strength training and cardio to yoga and flexibility exercises, there's something for everyone.

Together, we'll celebrate our successes, overcome our challenges, and inspire one another to keep pushing forward.
I focus primarily on Functional Fitness. What the means is I want to provide exercises that are going to help you get through your day easier. Functional fitness focuses on building strength, mobility, and endurance in ways that directly improve daily activities. Instead of just isolating muscles, these exercises train your body to move more efficiently in real-life situations. For example, squats mimic the motion of getting up from a chair, deadlifts help with lifting grocery bags safely, and balance exercises improve stability when walking on uneven ground. By training with purpose, you’ll find everyday movements become easier, reducing strain and the risk of injury while boosting overall confidence in your mobility.
Together, we'll prove that disability is not a barrier to fitness – it's an opportunity to discover the incredible strength that lies within each of us.
With gratitude and encouragement,
Angelina
