30 Years as an amputee

Adaptive Amputees is a free resource covering prosthetics, fitness, mental health, advocacy, and real-life living β€” written by a biomedical engineer who's been in your shoes (and your socket).

My Story

Born with clubfoot in Russia

I was given up for adoption with hopes that my medical needs could be addressed in America. I got a new family, a new home, and a new leg β€” all before I turned five.

Tinkered my way into engineering

Growing up, I was frustrated by the limits of my prosthetic. My dad and I built activity-specific legs in the garage. That curiosity became a biomedical engineering degree.

Found my calling in advocacy

I learned firsthand how hard it is to ask for the care you deserve. Now I educate and empower amputees to advocate for themselves β€” loudly and without apology.

"If you've ever left a prosthetist appointment feeling unheard this site is for you."

Whether you're newly diagnosed, years into your journey, or supporting someone you love, Adaptive Amputees exists to give you honest information, practical tools, and a community that gets it.
